I was born at Karnanganyjawurtu in the desert. W e walked to Puluwala.
I stayed there with my mother and father. We moved to another
living water, Purrpuny. After that we moved to Lumpu Lumpu
At law time some people went to Christmas Creek to bring back
people for ceremony. When the ceremony was finished we were
moving to Cherrabun Station.
The workers from Cherrabun saw a bushfire at Yapulu so they thought
that there must be bushmen there. The police tracked them there
to Yapulu and they chained them up and took them into Cherrabun
Station. They were frightened of the police.
We camped one night at Cherrabun and then went into town to the
police station. We went back top Cherrabun to work. My father passed
away there and then my mother and I went on to Jubilee Station,
across the Fitzroy River. From there I went to the Mission School
in Fitzroy Crossing.
I stayed there until one Christmas I didn't want to go back there.
I went to Jubilee Station instead and I learnt to work cleaning
the manager's house. We had Saturday and Sunday off. One Monday
my promised husband came from GoGo Station to pick me up. We went
to live at GoGo and then on to Bayulu Community.
