Tiny McCale was born on the Inverway station, close to the Northern territory and Western Australia border. Her birth date is unknown. Tiny belongs to the Juru Language group and her skin name is Nyawurru. Tiny grew up on the station and was employed doing domestic duties such as, washing, cleaning, and general housework. Tiny was also a good clothes maker. Her husband who has now passed away was Janawa skin they had nine children. Tiny now lives in Halls Creek, bringing up her grand daughter and is an active member of the Yarliyil Art centre's executive committee. In her paintings she mainly deals with the hills, water holes, bush tucker and animals of her country. |
